Sabbath Sunday Oct 11

You’ll find me today focusing on God and my family today.  We’ll miss church, at home today with Rachel who is recovering from her tonsillectomy this week.

IMG_0913I love our church, Grace Family Church, in Cabot, which has two services on Sunday, 9:15 and 11 am.  We usually attend the late service, because that’s when our teen’s friends attend.

We’ll eat together … real food for us, soft food for Rachel. Maybe our Marine son will call today … he’s stationed in Hawaii.  (I like to say, my Marine is protecting our nation’s beaches for his travel agent mother.) Yes, he’s really got a sweet gig, but someone’s got to do it, might as well be him.

Roger and I’ll watch some football, when Rachel naps, but when she’s awake, we’ll probably watch some movies together that makes her smile!  Tell me … what are you doing today?  And tell me where you’re located … we’re in central Arkansas. Let’s have some fun with comments today!

  • We took Rachel for a drive just to give her a taste of normal life again, and that didn't go so well. She's back in bed for now. She mentioned today that she was missing some of homecoming. Eric did call ... when he thought briefly that his Chiefs were going to beat our Cowboys. I would have loved to see you driving lovelies! Thanks for your comments.
  • Happy birthday to Aidan ... we remember that he shares Roger's birthday. Sound like a nice Sunday. Thanks for replying ... hope you'll come back often.

Judy, I spent the morning at church at The Cross, my new church home. It's challenging being a single mom, and having the only kids in the church so far but they are so wonderful that I rarely even notice. All of the guys take time to play and wrestle with the kids at some point, and all the women help me wherever needed. My goal is to give to the church, as much as all of them give to me.

We have childcare for Aidan, and Noah and Kaylia sit in the service. At first that was hard, but now it's just our routine. They sit still and pretty quiet for the 1 1/2 hours we meet. After service we all have lunch together which is a great time of hanging out and getting to serve each other as well. I cook on the first Sunday of every month! Last week was chicken spaghetti and we make enough for 40. I'm starting the children's ministry there and overseeing the childcare, etc. I think they figured since I'm the only one with kids, I might be the best candidate for the job, lol. We will see about that one! On Sunday nights, we have cell group that meets and discusses Sunday morning's sermon. Pretty cool stuff :)

Anyways, love and miss you guys!

Just got back from driving my young friend, Samantha and two of her friends in the Cabot Homecoming Parade. Three beautiful Sweethearts perched on back of the Solara. It was very very cold and damp. One thing's for sure....watching a parade is way more interesting than riding in one!
  • Sounds like a nice day, Jan. Cowboys are disappointing us, but Rachel is much better. Give Mel a kiss at halftime!

Went to second servcie at McArthur Assembly of God in Jacksonville, AR. then to eat fish at N & N in Cabot. Got a load of laundy in the washer and another one waiting. Mel is watching ball games on tv and I will do a little catch up in the office and get ready for Sunday night tv.
  • Hope you and Scrappy enjoy this beautiful day in St. Louis! The best to you as well!

Today I have already thanked Him for my blessings, and will continue to do so.. looking out to the back yard where it is sunny, brisk and beautiful. I have a pork roast in the crock pot, will iron and get ready for the work week. And, of course, walk my wonderful pooch who has helped me get through the difficult times recently.

I am happy, and that is a blessing in itself. Wishing happiness and good health to all my friends.
